Curriculum

Our Vision Statement:

At Calow Church of England (V.C.) Primary School we are a safe, nurturing community with a kind and caring Christian ethos. We inspire and enable everyone to reach their potential through high expectations and by providing a wide range of experiences. Our school is supportive and encouraging so that everyone is able to grow and flourish. By raising aspirations, we prepare our children for their future adventures both academically and spiritually.

Our Curriculum Aims

  • Develop successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve.
  • For all our children to develop a sense of mystery and wonder.
  • To gain an understanding of Christian values and the teaching of Jesus Christ and to explore their own spirituality.
  • To explore and celebrate the heritage and history of our area
  • To encourage our pupils to look outwards, set high aspirations for themselves and open their eyes to the wide variety of opportunities available to them as they grow up.
  • To contribute positively to society, and fully understand the democratic process and their rights and responsibilities as global citizens and guardians of the Earth.
  • To introduce our children to a broad range of music, literature and art, helping them to develop their own interests and passions based on experience.
  • To increase children’s understanding and appreciation of diversity, in all its forms, and to celebrate difference through our curriculum.
